How much styling would this style hair require?

Im planning on getting my hair cut and I want to know how much styling would be needed to achieve either of these looks…

With short styles like that, the cut itself does most of the work! They are both very cute by the way

Both of these looks were most likely achieved using a flat iron.
The first picture of the girl wearing sunglasses is flatironed straight at the sides, and flipped up with the flat iron at the top. The second photo is also done with the use of a flat iron, but this time the hair has been flattened all straight down.

For both looks, it would be best to purchase a ceramic iron with bevelled edges. The bevelled edges will make flipping the hair easier.
Ceramics are a bit pricey, but they are worth it in the long run.
(Maybe ask for one for Christmas?!)

Because the hair is short, it’s easy to manipulate what direction you want it to go with the flat iron and the right products!

After flat ironing, it looks like they probaly used some type of matte paste to give that ”piece-y’ look. Ask your stylist for the best product to use. Show her the pictures you are looking at, most stylists will know exactly what to recommend for your hair type & desired effect.
